I'm Mari, a Norwegian artist and clinical psychologist.

I paint because I believe beauty and wonder is something the mind genuinely needs.

Not as a luxury, but as a place to land.

I started painting to find my way back to something real and grounded in myself.

My paintings invite you to do the same.

OASIS

Some places exist only inside us.

It can be an imaginary place, or a place built from memories.

It's a place where you can go to dream, or where you can go when you need a break.

The Oasis collection is six paintings about visualizing that place.

Do you have a place where you feel completely safe and grounded?

For me it is a cabin in the mountains where I spent my childhood summers. Playing, exploring, completely present in the moment.

Most of us have a place like that somewhere.

Through this collection I have tried to bring that feeling onto canvas. The wonder and the mystery and the magic that we are so good at as children, and so quick to lose as we grow older.
